REVELADO O ALINHAMENTO DA 74ª EDIÇÃO DO FESTIVAL DE CINEMA DE VENEZA2017-07-28 Darren Aronovski, George Clooney e Guillermo del Toro são os nomes mais conhecidos da competição oficial. O alinhamento da edição 2017 do festival de cinema de veneza foi revelado esta quinta-feira de manhã pelo diretor do certame, Alberto Barbera e por Paolo Baratta, presidente da Bienalle di Venezia. Tal como fora anunciado antes, o filme de abertura será "Downsizing", de Alexander Payne, a história de uma sociedade à beira do colapso onde os seres humanos se submetem a uma tecnologia que lhes reduz o tamanho de forma a poderem ter uma vida melhor. Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz, Laura Dern e Jason Sudeikis são os protagonistas. Foram anunciadas 21 longas-metragens no alinhamento da principal secção competitiva, onde se destacam "Mother!", de Darren Aronovsky, uma história de terror com Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem e Ed Harris; e "Suburbicon", realizado por George Clooney e escrito a meias com os irmãos Coen. Também a ficção científica de Guillermo del Toro, com "The Shape of Water"; "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri", do realizador de "In Bruges", Martin McDonagh e "First Reformed", de Paul Schrader. Ainda "Mektoub My Love", de Abdellatif Kechiche e dois documentários: "Human Flow" do ativista chinês Ai Weiwei, acerca da crise dos refugiados, e "Ex Libris-The New York Public Library" de Frederick Wiseman, o maior documentarista vivo. O júri que atribuirá o Leão de Ouro para o melhor filme do festival, é liderado, este ano, pela atriz Annette Bening. Na segunda secção competitiva, Horizontes, será o realizador italiano Gianni Amelio a presidir aos jurados. A 74ª edição do Festival de Cinema de Veneza decorre entre 30 de agosto e 9 de setembro.
